Are you facing different difficulties in managing the lifting tasks? You need to change the old lifting slings and should use the efficient chain slings. According to the experts, chain slings are considered as the most efficient lifting slings, which have got the capability to lift more than the working load limit without any complicacy. The clients from the constructional and the industrial sectors highly prefer to use the chain slings during the lifting applications.

In the Middle East market, the demands for the chain slings are pretty high. Saudi Dutest is one of the leading chain slings distributors in Saudi Arabia. It has been dealing with a wide variety of chain slings and components in order to satisfy the needs of the industrial clients.

The chains slings are fabricated with grade 80 components. Thus these offer high resistance to various abrasions and cuts. These slings can be effectively used in different climatic conditions, as there is no effect of UV radiations and chemicals. It has also been observed that the efficiency of the chain slings is not affected when these are used in high temperatures. Because of all these benefits, the overall durability of the chain slings is highly enhanced.

Versatility –

Different lifting applications need a different type of lifting products and accessories. But with the chain slings and fittings, it is feasible to perform every type of lifting applications. These slings can be easily adjusted as per the demand of the situation.

Maintenance –

As compared to other lifting slings, the chain slings require fewer maintenance works. Again, it is pretty easy to inspect these slings and to carry forward the maintenance works.

Why is Dutest Considered as the Best Dealer of Chain Slings in UAE?

Dutest is the main dealer of chain slings & fittings in UAE. It has been supplying best quality chain slings and fittings for a long time and has managed to attract both local and international clients. Chain slings are the most commonly used lifting equipment in the lifting industries.

These are mainly preferred in the industrial as well as constructional sectors. In order to lift heavy loads like building materials and mechanical equipment, the chain slings are highly preferred. These are made up of Grade 80 components and offer a great reliability and strength.

Dutest mainly deals with a single leg, double leg, three and four leg configuration chain slings in order to fulfill the requirement of the clients. Different varieties of end fittings are available with these chain slings in order to perform different types of lifting works.

It has been observed that most of the clients mainly prefer to use chain slings with multiple legs. The multiple leg configuration of the chain slings actually helps a lot in maintaining the lifted load in a uniform manner. Due to more legs, the pressure of the load is equally divided to each leg, and thus stability is maintained at the time of heavy lifting works.

The multi-leg configuration also reduces the chances of breakdowns and accidents in the industries. Apart from multi-leg chain slings, the Dutest also deals with necessary fittings required for these slings. The fittings are very important for the chain slings as they provide great support to the slings during the lifting application.

There is a huge demand for the Dutest’s chain slings & fittings across the World. Dutest mainly deals with fittings like Alloy steel chain, clevis grab hook, shorten clutch, swivel self-locking hook, clevis self-locking hook, clevis hook with safety latch, connecting link, master link with flat welded, and master link assembly with flat welding. All these fittings have got important use in the lifting industry.

Conclusion

Understand the Chain Grades to Get Better Workload Limit

We all know chains are sturdy lifting gears and from thousands of years have been used as the most versatile item to lift, move and rig heavy objects. These days you can see chain slings & fittings are used in a variety of applications, but not every industry uses the chains made from same material or grade.

According to the safety standards established by lots of regularity authorities, there has to be a regulation to use a chain grade for a specific application.

What are chain grades?

Chain grades are a safety measure implemented to show the breaking strength of a chain. The most common chain grades fall between G30 to G100. The digits behind the letter show the newtons per millimeter squared, in simple words, if you invest in G80 chain slings & fittings, it means the chain can handle the ultimate stress of 800 Newtons per millimeter squared.

Best suited grades for different applications

The most common chain slings are made from G80 alloy steel which works best for overhead lifting applications. If you are purchasing your chain slings from a reliable manufacturer that adheres to the set industry standards, the product must be manufactured by using industry approved alloying elements to develop the steel alloy for the chain.

Other most common grade is G70, which is made from heat treated steel and lack the alloying element. You can invest in G70 chain for lashing and tie down operations in transportations. Keep in mind that this grade may elongate before breaking, but the lack of the alloying elements makes it inappropriate for overhead lifting.

When you are lifting a load off the ground, it is important to keep the workload limit in mind. Therefore, always buy chain slings & fittings that are made from G80 alloy steel and have sufficient strength to support the weight of the load. You can find lots of manufacturers in the industry offering quality compliant grades in chain slings. For instance, Dutest is the widely recognized entity providing single and multi-leg formats of G80 chain slings, browse through their collection if you need equipment for overhead lifting applications.

Precautions to be taken during Operation of Chain Slings

The chain slings have an essential role to play during a lifting operation. They are an indispensable part of lifting equipment. These chains are specially manufactured for rugged and long lasting service. But it is important to take safety measures and observe precautions to extend the product's useful life.

Certain hazards are common during operation of chain slings, and they can turn lead to serious troubles. So the users must exercise care and intelligence to ensure a safe working environment. Know the ten precautions to exercise when working with chain slings and fittings:

  • Do not exceed the working load limit or put on the loads above the desired load limit of a chain sling.
  • Always ensure that both the fittings points and the attachments have equal working load limits of they are slightly greater than that of chain’s WLL. In case, there is the unbalanced amount of loads, or load of fittings and attachments are lesser than the chain slings, the assembly shall be rated at the working load limit of the weakest component.
  • Never rest of drop any kind of load on the lifting chain.
  • Chain slings for lifting must never be used if it has any kind of twists, kinks, and knots. Always check for the defects and eliminate the defected slings immediately.
  • Ensure that the load has been seated and fixed properly, the attachment must be made within throat opening, and it should be centered in a bowl of the hook. Do not point load hooks.
  • Chain slings and fittings must be properly balanced to avoid the slings undergo undue stress.
  • Always make sure that your employers and other people at the operation site are using pads around sharp corners.
  • Do not bounce, give shock or jerk a sling suddenly when it is in operation, especially when it is lowering or lifting loads. You can remove the slack by slow application of a load to the chain.
  • Do not hammer hooks or force chain get affixed or settled in one situation, and never anneal alloy chain slings and fittings.
  • Never use acid or any corroding substance on slings, always avoid extreme temperatures when using the chain slings. High temperature can destroy the sling.

Though chain slings may appear very simple to use lifting gear, these are very important and are used in every small or big lifting procedure. However, to maintain their working capacity and the safety of products and the users, it is vital to follow certain precaution. Reputed suppliers always recommend the precaution discussed in this article.
